Benue State governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia yesterday received the leadership of North Central Development Commission, NCDC, led by Mr Tsenyil Cyril, at the Government House, Makurdi.
Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Tersoo Kula, in a statement, said the meeting focused on progress, possibilities and the future of the North Central region.
Governor Alia briefed the delegation on the steady transformation taking place in Benue State, highlighting key areas of infrastructural development to include new roads connecting communities, agricultural programmes breathing life into rural economies, security of lives and property, and development efforts aimed at restoring confidence in government.
The governor described the engagement as a significant step towards strengthening regional ties and fostering development in the North Central zone.
In his remarks, Mr Cyril shared the commission’s vision for a North Central where infrastructure is modern, industries thrive and citizens enjoy real opportunities, expressing the commission’s commitment to support Benue State’s transformation agenda.
The NCDC chairman also reflected on the collective journey of the region, expressing satisfaction that what once looked like distant promises is now unfolding in practical ways.
Key areas of focus during the meeting, according to the statement, include investments in security, support for farmers, empowerment programmes and regional collaboration, as well as strengthening every state in the zone.
