Army Headquarters Assessment Team Inspects Troops, Equipment

Army Headquarters Operational Assessment Team led by Major-General Abubakar Garba and Major-General Olufemi Williams on Saturday undertook an operational assessment visit to 1 Division and Sector 1, Operation Fansan Yamma. 

The visit was  part of ongoing efforts to evaluate troops readiness and operational effectiveness in the fight against insecurity within  1 Division’s Area of Responsibility.

The team, which comprised senior officers from the Department of Army Operations was received by the commander, Sub Sector 3, at Forward Operating Base, FOB, Udawa, where they inspected troops, equipment and facilities.

The assessment focused on operational preparedness, logistics and troops welfare.

During the visit, the team addressed and interacted with the troops, commending their resilience and professionalism in sustaining ongoing operations against banditry and terrorism.

They encouraged the personnel to remain committed to their constitutional responsibilities and uphold the highest standards of discipline and professionalism.

The team  later proceeded to Birnin Gwari, where they were briefed at the Operational Room on the current security situation, recent operational successes and challenges.

The visit provided the team with first-hand insight into the field realities of Operation Fansan Yamma within the joint operations area.

The team also visited Headquarters, 3 Brigade, Kano, where they were received by the Commander, 3 Brigade, Brigadier-General Ahmed Tukur. They conducted the inspection of facilities and received an operational briefing.

The team leader said the  visit underscored the commitment of the Nigerian Army Headquarters to ensure that operational formations and units maintain high standards of efficiency, disciplineand combat readiness in line with the vision of the chief of army staff. (NAN)
