No fewer than 70 players drawn from the youth league of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, have been named for its forthcoming camping exercise,
In a statement signed by the Director of NPFL Youth League, Dominic Iorfa, the exercise will hold in the FCT or Ogun State from 4th to 17th October, 2025.
The statement reads: The NPFL recently concluded the 2024/2025 NPFL Youth Championship amongst the 20 clubs.
The Youth Championship was held in 3 zones/centres in the country, Ikenne, Isiala-Ngwa and Kano, respectively.
“However, about 70 players were selected by qualified scouts during the games for camping exercise.
The selected players will be invited for 2 2-week camping in Ogun State or the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, from 4th to 17th October, 2025, where their abilities will be further put to test for a final selection of 20 players that will form the NPFL Youth Team.
“It is imperative to state that during the camping exercise, there will be a reassessment of each player to identify exceptional players to enhance their technical abilities to excel further in their careers in partnership with 1 Nil Sports Management.”
The invited players were scouted from various teams, including Kano Pillars, El-Kanemi Warriors, Katsina United, Plateau United, Nasarawa United, Niger Tornadoes, Akwa Select FC, and Abia Warriors.
Others include; Bayelsa United, Enyimba FC, Heartland FC, Lobi Stars, Rangers Int’l, Rivers United, Remo Stars, Sunshine Stars, Bendel Insurance, Shooting Stars, Kwara United and Ikorodu City FC.
