Delta State Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu has called on host communities to intensify efforts towards the security of school properties in their domain.

The commissioner stated this in Agbor Thursday when he paid on-the-spot assessment visit to some public schools in preparation for the resumption of the new academic session.

According to the commissioner, securing the school facilities would not only be beneficial to pupils, but  also enable government to pay attention to other areas that could better the educational sector.

He emphasised that the MORE Agenda of the present administration prioritises the provision of basic education, just as he called for collaboration.

“As a state government, the governor has always prioritised education across all levels, especially at the basic level.

“Apart from the provision of basic amenities, provision of instructional materials and capacity building for teachers are also crucial.

“It is on this strength that I am calling on host communities where our schools are cited to intensify efforts towards securing school properties in their domain”, the commissioner stated.

The commissioner and his team were conducted round schools in Ika-South by the Chief Inspector Education, CIE, Mr Idume Enahoro.

The team visited Erigbe Primary School, Orogodo Primary School and Charles Burr Primary School.
