Ondo Speaker Pledges Commitment To Good Governance, Bags Excellence Award 

Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Chief Olamide Oladiji, has reiterated the legislature’s unwavering commitment to good governance in the state.Oladiji made the pledge on Saturday night in Akure after receiving the Legion of Excellence in Public Service Award from The Chronicle Media Ventures.

He said that all 26 lawmakers of the House had dedicated their abilities and capacities to ensuring that the people of the state enjoyed the dividends of democracy.

According to him, the Assembly will not rest on its oars in carrying out its legislative duties for the betterment of the state.

The award presentation formed part of an event marking the 50th birthday of the Chief Executive Officer, of the media outfit, Mr Olaseeni Oyesusi, as well as the organisation’s 12th anniversary.

The event with the theme: “Accountability and Transparency: Keys to Fulfilling Election Promises in Public Service”, drew dignitaries from across the state.

The Speaker thanked the Chronicle Magazine for the honour, describing it as symbolic, while reiterating his dedication to promoting the interests of his constituents at all times.

Presenting the award, Oyesusi said the recognition was based on a thorough assessment of Oladiji’s record of legislative leadership, grassroots development, and commitment to the people.

He described Oladiji’s leadership journey as a blend of political service, entrepreneurial achievement, and educational advocacy.

The CEO also reaffirmed the organisation’s mission to spotlight excellence, reward service, and inspire leaders who put the people first.

Deputy Speaker, Mr Ololade Gbegudu, who led other lawmakers to the ceremony, described Oladiji as a great pillar in the state, noting that the honour was well deserved given his experience and antecedents as an exemplary parliamentarian.

At the event, Chronicle Assembly Correspondent, Mrs Elizabeth Aduramigba-Oyeniwa, also received an award, alongside other notable individuals honoured for their contributions to the development of the state and humanity.

Highlights of the celebration included the cutting of the birthday cake and the launch of a new book.
