HCSF Hails Collaboration with States, Hosts Zamfara Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, has commended the growing collaboration between the Federal and State Civil Services, describing it as a crucial step towards strengthening governance and enhancing service delivery across the country.

She made this remark while receiving the Head of Service of Zamfara State, Alhaji Yakubu Sani Haidara, mni, and a delegation of Permanent Secretaries from the State during a courtesy visit to her office in Abuja.

Mrs. Walson-Jack highlighted that the synergy between the Federal and State Civil Services is already yielding positive results—particularly in areas such as capacity development, knowledge sharing, and the implementation of reform initiatives under the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 (FCSSIP25).

In his remarks, the Zamfara State Head of Service stated that the visit was aimed at strengthening partnerships with the Federal Civil Service in key areas such as capacity building, policy innovation, and reform implementation to improve service delivery at the state level. He lauded the HCSF for her visionary leadership, transformative reforms, and steadfast commitment to repositioning the Nigerian Civil Service for greater effectiveness and productivity.

Alhaji Haidara also praised the HCSF’s efforts to establish a citizen-centric Civil Service built on the pillars of accountability, integrity, and technology—efforts he noted are essential for streamlining government operations, fostering collaboration, and developing a responsive, professional, and future-ready workforce.

He further disclosed that Zamfara State has aligned its priorities with federal initiatives by emphasizing capacity building and staff training. He reaffirmed the State’s commitment to continued collaboration with the Federal Civil Service to drive efficiency and reinvigorate public service delivery.

The meeting was attended by Federal Permanent Secretaries from the Office of the HCSF, Zamfara State Permanent Secretaries, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Civil Service Matters (SSAP/CSM), and Directors from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF).
