Federal Ministry of Education has commended the Yobe State government for excelling in basic education delivery.
This was contained in a special letter of commendation signed by the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa and conveyed to Governor Mai Mala Buni in Damaturu.
The minister commended Yobe State government’s dedication to advancing education and ensuring that children in the state acquire the knowledge and skills essential for their success.
“l note with deep appreciation that Yobe State has fully accessed its 2024 Universal Basic Education matching grant,” Alausa wrote.
The minister’s commendation came after three girls from the state, Nafisa Abdullah, Rukayya Muhammad Fema and Khadija Kashim, emerged world champions at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London, United Kingdom, with 20,000 participants from 69 countries.
Reacting to the letter, Governor Buni said the commendation would serve as a springboard to achieve higher targets in advancing education in the state.
He commended stakeholders in education including teachers and parents for their support and commitment to government’s policy and programmes on education.
