Gov Namadi Appoints New Rector For Jigawa Poly

Jigawa State governor, Umar Namadi  has approved the appointment of Habeeba Kakudi as the new Rector of Jigawa State Polytechnic for Communication and Information Technology, Kazaure.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Malam Bala Ibrahim.

Prior to her appointment, Kakudi served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Bayero University, Kano, BUK. 

She holds a Bachelors degree (B. Tech) in Maths/Computer Science from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, a Masters in Computer Science from BUK and a Ph.D in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Kakudi began her academic career at BUK in 2011 as Lecturer II, having previously worked at Jigawa State College of Education, Gumel, from 2001 to 2011. 

She has an extensive record of publications and has participated in numerous workshops and training sessions within and outside Nigeria.

Similarly, the governor approved the appointment of Maji Abubakar as the new Provost of Jigawa State College of Remedial and Advanced Studies, Babura, JICORAS.

Before this appointment, Abubakar was a Chief Lecturer at Binyaminu Usman Polytechnic, Hadejia. 

He earned his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mewar University, Rajasthan, India, followed by a Masters in Advanced Manufacturing Technology from the University of Portsmouth, UK. 

Abubakar later obtained a Ph.D in Industrial Manufacturing from the same institution. 

He is a member of several professional bodies, including COREN, Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and has published numerous articles.

The SSG urged the appointees to work diligently towards the effective execution of the administration’s policies and programmes in education, highlighting the importance of innovation and improved service delivery in the sector.
