Gov Eno Donates Surveillance Vehicles,  Tasks Police On Insecurity

Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno has assured of his administration’s commitment to a peaceful and crime-free state, and charged security agencies to up their game in the task of ridding the state of criminal elements.

Eno gave the assurance while handing over to the state police command, five additional patrol vehicles at the Government House, Uyo, at the weekend.

According to him, the state must, at all cost, be sanitised from all forms of criminality that might threaten its peaceful and secure ambience, adding that the latest delivery would compliment the earlier provision of 20 Toyota Hilux trucks to various security agencies to boost security operations. 

“I am willing to put everything we have to ensure that we do not allow criminality to thrive in this state. In view of this, we have added five additional police patrol vehicles to the fleet of the state police command,” he said.

The governor vowed that the police and other security agencies would continue to be assisted to carry out their jobs effectively in order to sustain the peaceful ambience of the state.

“We will continue to do this, not just for the police, but for the entire security architecture of the state,” he added, and

commended the Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare, for effectively policing the state.

In his remarks, CP Azare appreciated the governor for the vehicles and pledged to continue to work hard to secure and make the state more peaceful and free of criminality.

He promised to ensure that the vehicles are properly deployed and utilised for their intended purposes, and thanked the governor for his remarkable support and partnership with security agencies, which he described as second to none in Nigeria.
