Police Arrest 2 For Kidnapping, Extortion In Sokoto

Sokoto State Police Command has apprehended two suspects linked to criminal conspiracy, anonymous communication and attempted kidnapping.

 On May 9, Muhammad Jibril reported receiving threatening phone calls demanding ₦50,000,000 as ransom to avoid being kidnapped. 

Detectives traced the phone number and arrested two suspects: Ibrahim Abdulrahim (19) and Abdulmajid Sidi (20).

The police spokesperson, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, in a statement said, Abdulrahim is a resident of Gidan Dare, Sokoto, while Sidi is also a resident of Gidan Dare, Sokoto.

The suspects are neighbours of the complainant and their father was approached by the complainant seeking intervention before their arrest.

The police is continuing investigation into the matter.
