Nigerian Army has appointed Lieutenant Colonel Onyinyechi Anele as the Acting Director of Army Public Relations.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major-General Markus Kangye disclosed Anele’s appointment to newsmen in a statement yesterday.
Anele, the first woman to be appointed into the position, will succeed Major-General Onyema Nwachukwu on April 22.
Prior to her appointment, Anele worked at the Department of Civil-Military Relations.
She once served as the public relations officer in the office of the Chief of Army Staff.
She is a member of the Direct Regular Course 15 and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR.
Nwachukwu, who served as army spokesman for over three years, was appointed in June 2021, following a major reshuffle in the military.
