Ramadan: NGO Donates Cash, Foodstuffs To Households In Zamfara

Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO, Society for Zakkat Professionals has distributed assorted food items and cash to 30 less-privileged households in Zamfara State.

Presenting the items to the beneficiaries in Gusau on Saturday, Chairman of the organisation, Malam Ibrahim Tudu said the gesture was meant to assist less-privileged families in the holy month of Ramadan.

Tudu added that the package comprised assorted food items like; rice, millet and cash assistance.

“The items distributed today were procured through  donations from philanthropists and some well-to-do individuals.

“Each beneficiary will also receive N2,000 for transportation,” he said.

Tudu noted that the organisation consists of members of skilled professionals from different fields, volunteers on charity and humanitarian services.

“This organisation focuses on the fight against poverty and social injustice.

“We collect donations, grants, Zakkat and other assistance from individuals and organisations for distribution to the less-privileged,” he explained.

Some of the beneficiaries, Malama A’isha Alhaji and Abubakar Muhammed appreciated the organisation for the kind gesture. (NAN)
