JTF Foils Ransom Deal, Neutralises Bandits In Zamfara Forest

Operatives of the Joint Task Force, JTF, in Zamfara State have foiled a ransom payment deal and neutralised a group of bandits in Ganuwa Forest, Tsafe Local Government Area.

The operation, which took place on Wednesday, was disclosed in a post on the official X handle of a security analyst, Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, JTF operatives acted on intelligence about an attempt to deliver ransom money for the release of a kidnapped victim.

“The bandits reportedly emerged from their hideout to collect the ransom, but ran into the waiting security personnel.

“Upon sighting the operatives, the criminals opened fire, leading to a fierce gun,” the post stated.

The post  revealed that  JTF operatives strategically held their ground, allowing the assailants to exhaust their ammunition before engaging and neutralising them.

Two motorcycles and weapons belonging to the bandits were recovered from the scene.

It was also confirmed that the kidnapped victim was safely rescued and has since been reunited with his family in good health.
