Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, said it arrested 71 suspects for various offences in 2024.
The State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Lagos, Thursday.
The commandant told NAN that among the suspects, 21 were involved in oil theft, one in illegal mining and 49 in other offences.
He stated that incidents of vandalism and other crimes significantly declined in 2024 due to the operational strategies adopted by the command.
According to him, the command’s harmonious working relationship with other security agencies and local communities played a key role in achieving this success.
Keshinro, however, stated that the command secured two convictions from seven cases charged to court.
He assured residents of the command’s commitment to partner them and other corporate entities for the effective discharge of its mandate. NAN
