Former Big Brother Naija housemate and comedian DeeOne has stirred controversy with his claim that only three ex-housemates—himself, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, and Bisola Aiyeola—remain relevant in the entertainment industry.
In a video shared on his TikTok page, he questioned whether BBNaija is a blessing or a curse, stating that many former housemates struggle to maintain their careers after the show.
DeeOne specifically mentioned Erica Nlewedim and Laycon, asserting that they had promising careers before joining the show but became stagnant afterward.
He also referenced musician Teddy A, arguing that his music career declined post-BBNaija. According to DeeOne, while many ex-housemates make money, only a few remain truly influential in the industry.
His remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that BBNaija fame can be fleeting, while others defended their favorite stars. Many fans pointed out that several ex-housemates have built successful careers in various fields.
As the debate continues, DeeOne’s comments have reignited discussions about the long-term impact of the reality show on its participants.
