Police in Ogun State have arrested a man, Kazeem Sholola for allegedly pouring hot oil on his wife, Mutiat Sholola in Owode Egba area.
The suspect also stabbed his wife in the head, causing injuries on her.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta at the weekend.
Odutola said the suspect was arrested, following a report from members of Ring Road community who said that he poured oil on his wife and stabbed her due to a misunderstanding.
“It was reported that Sholola, in an uncontrollable anger over a misunderstanding, poured hot oil over his wife’s body and also stabbed her in the head”, she noted
The police spokesperson said the victim had been taken to Ore Ofé Hospital for medical attention
She noted that the crime scene had been examined, while the suspect is under investigation.
