From Owen Akenzua, Asaba
Delta State government has banned the indiscriminate mixing of concrete on road surfaces and pavements.
Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, in a statement made available to newsmen in Asaba, said the ban is with immediate effect.
Mr Aniagwu stated that the ban was occasioned by the fact that the worrisome act by workmen id defacing and destroying roads and pavement.
While assuring of government’s commitment to provide quality road infrastructure across the state, Aniagwu said it would not fold its arms and watch individuals destroy the roads and pavements already constructed.
The commissioner warned that any person caught engaging in the act would be appropriately sanctioned and the construction site sealed.
