Mercy Eke, a popular reality TV star, has cried out following CBN’s withdrawal Heritage Bank’s operating license, leaving her with over N100 million trapped in the bank.

Eke disclosed that her association with Heritage Bank began when they sponsored the fourth season of Big Brother Naija, which she emerged as the winner.

She however faulted her account manager for convincing her to fix her money in the bank, even though he was aware of the bank’s financial struggles, resulting in her funds being stuck.

Sharing her situation on X on Thursday, Eke wrote: “I really don’t no how to react about this … I have been hoping for the best .. thinking there’s a way out…. [Hash tag] HeritageBank.”

A fan asked, “Omg Lambo hope you don’t have acct with them?” but Eke in her response said, “I do… and have above 100m with them.”

Responding to a question on what her account manager is saying, she said, “She lured me into fixing my money, knowing fully well there’s been issues with the bank … I don’t have words for her, I blame myself.”

In an effort to get back her funds, Eke said she has officially notified the NDIC, seeking their assistance in recovering her money stuck in Heritage Bank.

The NDIC recently began the liquidation process of Heritage Bank, with the verification and payment of deposits underway.

According to the commission, the refund process will start with accounts holding N5 million or less.
