Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has rejig his cabinet, created one new ministry and merged three others in a move aimed at enhancing the administration’s efficiency in the implementation of the ‘ARISE Agenda’ blueprint of government, it was gathered at the weekend.
Towards this end, it was learnt the decision was a prelude to the impending cabinet reshuffle to pave the way for the old officials he inherited from his political godfather, the immediate past Governor Udom Emmanuel, since May 2023, to give way.
Many of the appointees, government sources say, have served in different capacities in successive administrations since the era of former governors, Godswill Akpabio and Udom Emmanuel, hence the need to inject new bloods to service the system.
