Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National League (NNL), Mr Emmanuel Attah, has decried the lack of sponsorship for the league.
Attah, who said on Thursday in Abuja, attributed the situation to the current economic challenges.
He said that despite the harsh economy, the management of the league has been able to secure a sponsor, Prostar, a sports kit company.
The NNL Chief Executive Officer, said that Prostar would be the official match kit partner of the NNL in the 2024/25 football season.
Attah said that the company had showcased what it can do for the NNL during the Super Eight competition held in Enugu.
“All the balls, jerseys, prizes, and tracksuits that we used during the Super Eight were customized with the NNL logo by Prostar.
“They have kept to their promises to give us 400 balls for the 2024/25 NNL football season and the balls have been supplied to us already. Each club will have at least ten balls,” he said.
Attah who appreciated the management of Prostar for their support, said that the league would soon acquire another sponsor.
He said that the NNL was in talks with the SLTV that televised all the Super Eight matches live to promote the league.
Attah said that the Super Eight competition was a platform organized to get the best teams to qualify to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
“Four teams were promoted to the NPFL for the 2024/25 football season from the NNL, Beyond Limit FC from Ogun, El Kanemi Warriors, Borno, Nasarawa United, and Ikorodu FC of Lagos.
“As you can see one of the four teams promoted to the premier league held Rangers to a draw in the opening match of the NPFL at the cathedral in Enugu,“he said
