This was contained in a statement signed his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi and made available to journalists in Abuja.

The event which began today holds after an initial engagement with a wider  segment of youths on July 31 at a town hall meeting held at the National Assembly, where over 25 youth groups were in attendance.

The statement reads in part: “the speaker promised youths that the House would hold a dialogue twice annually for the leadership to know their problems with a view to finding solutions.”

He also promised to have a session with the participants of LMI Cohort 3 at the National Assembly tomorrow with the theme: ‘An afternoon with the Speaker’.

In addition to sharing his personal life experiences and some leadership tips, Speaker Abbas will also highlight certain strategies by the 10th House of Representatives to support youth leadership and encourage their participation in politics.

“LMI is an initiative instituted in 2022 under the leadership of the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, who is currently the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

“The programme is designed and targeted at equipping and empowering dynamic young leaders interested in public sector leadership, especially in the legislature, by providing them the necessary hands-on training and engagement in governance and public service through collaborative and inclusive leadership.

“The mission is to develop the next generation of legislators and ethical public sector leaders who are well-equipped with responsive leadership skills, knowledge and expertise to enhance public service delivery and foster national cohesion.”
