Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo has promised to provide amenities for the people of Ologbo Dukedom and ensure that the Marine Police guarding the community is fully equipped.
Okpebholo stated this at Ologbo during a on ward to ward campaign of Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area.
The governorship candidate appealed to the people of Ologbo to vote for the APC in the September 21 election.
“Your community is a border town, I will provide the required amenities so that you will be comfortable and be able to carry out your business in a peaceful environment.
“I heard they have taken your land, I will return it to you immediately I am sworn in as governor of Edo State. I will ensure that roads in the community are tarred to make it accessible without difficulty.”
According to him, “I will make sure I tar the roads immediately I resume office as governor of Edo State. I know fully well that Ologbo is a fishing community, I will make sure we provide soft loans and fishing equipment to enable the people carry out their business.
“In agriculture, mechanised farming will be provided, as men and women will be given soft loans to assist them carry out their farming activities.
“We will employ 500 teachers within 100 days in office, as well as provide pipe borne water so that people can have access to clean water.”
On his part, the Minister for Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Abubakar Momoh told the people not to believe what the opposition party is saying that APC is engulfed in crisis in Abuja. He said “there is nothing like that, they just want to use it to distract you.”
Meanwhile, the campaign team had a stopover at the palace of the Enogie of Ologbo, His Royal Highness, Prince Owenvbiugie Akenzua where the governorship candidate sought royal blessings.
At Uteh, Okpebholo assured the people that he will make sure that the major road that passes through the community is tarred so that they can access their community without difficulty.
In Aduwawa Livestock and Kara Market, Senator Okpebholo, who spoke in Hausa language, promised to build a modern market conducive for trading, as well abolish double taxation.
He said, “I will rebuild the market, tar the road and make sure you trade in a very conducive environment.
“I am coming to work for Edo people and not to steal their money, vote APC on September 21 and freedom will come your way,” he pleaded.
Former governor Adams Oshiomhole, speaking in Hausa language, told the people that Okpebholo is a co-senator and assured them that he will never disappoint them. “I stand here today to assure you that Okpebholo will deliver Edo people. I appeal to you to come out and vote APC on September 21.”
