Akpabio said that the 10th Senate’s commitment to poverty alleviation went beyond mere duty, adding that it was an obligation the lawmakers held dearly.
The speaker divulged that there was need for the councils to contribute to the health needs of the rural people, recalling that the present administration in the State had earlier embarked on massive rehabilitation, reconstruction and upgrade of some health facilities across the State.
In their 16 points Communique, the Forum called for strengthening of fiscal federalism and devolution of powers and expressed concern over current practices where mineral licenses are issued and explorations undertaken without recourse to State governments.Â
