The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, PEBEC, has received commendation after its intervention facilitated the swift renewal of a Nigerian international passport for a citizen who had earlier encountered delays in the process. The beneficiary, a Nigerian woman, shared her experience on social media, explaining that she had faced prolonged delays while attempting to renew her passport through the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS.

She said the situation changed after she sought PEBEC’s assistance, leading to the prompt processing and successful issuance of her passport.Expressing her delight, she wrote: “Good afternoon everyone, I have to brag a little bit this morning.

We saw this randomly online. Yes, Nigeria works!”The development has been cited as another example of PEBEC’s commitment to improving public service delivery through effective collaboration with Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, to eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks.According to observers, the intervention underscores the importance of inter-agency cooperation in ensuring that citizens receive timely and efficient services, while also strengthening public confidence in government institutions.

PEBEC was established to improve Nigeria’s business and regulatory environment by promoting reforms that enhance transparency, efficiency and responsiveness across public institutions. The Council continues to work closely with Federal MDAs to ensure that government services are delivered more effectively to citizens and businesses.

The woman’s testimony has since attracted positive reactions across social media, with many Nigerians describing the successful intervention as a demonstration that responsive governance and coordinated public service can deliver tangible results.
