The Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Hon. Yusuf Yakubu Buba, on Monday, July 13, 2026, presided over the Orientation/Briefing Exercise for 28 prospective Nigerian volunteers scheduled for deployment to Uganda under the Technical Aid Corps Scheme.
The orientation, held at the NTAC Conference Room in Jabi, Abuja, was designed to adequately prepare the volunteers for effective service in their host country by equipping them with the knowledge, values and professional guidance required to represent Nigeria with excellence, integrity and distinction.
Speaking during the exercise, the Director-General emphasized the importance of discipline, patriotism, professionalism and cultural sensitivity, reminding the volunteers that they would serve as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria. He urged them to uphold the nation’s reputation by demonstrating competence, commitment and respect for the laws and traditions of Uganda throughout their assignment.
The orientation, themed “Equipping Volunteers for Global Impact Through Service and Excellence,” focused on preparing the participants for the responsibilities ahead, while reinforcing NTAC’s commitment to promoting Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives through technical cooperation, capacity building and the deployment of skilled professionals to friendly African, Caribbean and Pacific countries.
The briefing also provided participants with essential information on their roles, expected conduct, welfare, safety and the expectations of the host country, ensuring they are fully prepared for a successful and impactful volunteering experience.
The 26 volunteers are expected to contribute their professional expertise in various sectors in Uganda, further strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and Uganda while advancing sustainable development through knowledge sharing and technical assistance.
