Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has been arrested following a bench warrant issued by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
According to TVC, the arrest came shortly after Justice Mohammed Umar ordered his arrest when he failed to appear in court for his arraignment on Tuesday.
Adeyemi is facing an eight-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on alleged forgery, fraud, and impersonation.
When the case, listed as No. 12 on the court’s cause list, was called, the defendant was absent. His lawyer, Mr. Genesis Francis, appeared on his behalf.
Justice Umar had previously adjourned the arraignment after the court was informed that Adeyemi was “indisposed.” Following his repeated failure to appear, the judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
Details surrounding the circumstances of his arrest remain unclear.
The Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) is not a recognised government agency, and Adeyemi’s claim to lead the organisation has been the subject of controversy for several months.
