All progressives Congress, APC, primary elections for the Niger South Senatorial Seat was not conducted across the senatorial district due to the absence of election materials to various ward centres.
This was noticed across the state thereby making the stakeholders to manipulate the election declaring their favourite candidates as the winners.
AljazirahNigeria Newspaper gathered that the absence of the election materials to ward centres made the electoral process impossible as a result of this.
The report added that party members and stakeholders expectation of a free and fair election were dashed as they were left stranded and disappointed due to lack of voting materials at the various polling units.
This act of manipulation was evident across several communities of Niger South Senatorial District and other zones as anger, frustration and confusion were the order of the day.
They expressed dissatisfaction and frustrations,”saying this is a waste of resources and time,we have mobilised our party members to their respective polling units only to witnessed this unacceptable brazen rigging scenario”.
Many lamented that despite their commitment to the democratic process, they were left waiting for hours without any sign of election materials or officials.
Also, findings in Wushishi local government area revealed that the aggrieved members of the ruling party APC over 200 defected to African Democratic congress ADC on Monday.
They claimed that the outcome of the primary elections in the area was marred by irregularities due to corruption,forcing them to frustrations and anger the alternative is to defect to ADC, Alh Mohamed Abubakar has said.
Stalwart of the African Democratic congress, ADC, in the area,Alh Saidu Sarkin Yaki, said it is a blessing in disguise for the opposition parties to achieve success at the forthcoming general elections.
