Kogi State government has expressed satisfaction with the successful remodelling of LGEA Demonstration Nursery/Primary School, Onyunkoko in Okene Local Government Area.
The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr Kingsley Fanwo, in a statement yesterday in Lokoja, described the project as a testament to Governor Ahmed Ododo’s commitment to provide modern and inspiring learning environments for pupils.
Fanwo stated that the administration remains committed to consolidating the educational infrastructural strides recorded by the previous administration.
“The newly remodeled school reflects government’s broader policy of structural standardisation in public schools across Kogi, aimed at ensuring that pupils learn in safe, beautiful and conducive environments,” he said.
The commissioner explained that Ododo, being a product of public schools, is passionate about restoring public confidence in the state’s education system through infrastructure investments.
“Providing free education in dilapidated structures would amount to a disservice to our future leaders.
“That is why government is working to restore the old glorious days when public schools in Kogi were known for their beauty and orderliness.
“The remodelling of LGEA Demonstration Nursery/Primary School is part of a statewide effort to reposition the education sector.
“Government has introduced free education for pupils and students in public schools and bursary support for tertiary institutions,” the commissioner stated.
He acknowledged that some school structures had suffered neglect, but assured that the administration is systematically addressing the challenge.
“Governor Ododo has never denied the reality that some facilities are old and dilapidated. We are systematically restoring them, touching as many schools as resources allow.
“The transformation of the school is evident in the contrast between the old and new structures, standing as a testament to government’s commitment to revitalise public education.
“The smiles on the pupils’ faces reflect their excitement and renewed pride in their school,” he said.
Fanwo noted that Ododo’s administration remains committed to ensuring that every child in Kogi has access to free education and a dignified learning environment.
