Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, has paid glowing tribute to its late leader, Chief Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, one year after his death saying he was “A game changer” whose “memory and voice remained firm, astute and unfailingly till the torch-line. Like a lion,” his “courage was unmatched and resonated large and wide”.
In a tribute signed by National Chairman of PANDEF, Ambassador Godknows igali,
stated that “Today, we specially remember with fondest memories our father, leader, national icon and statesman, Chief EK Clark, OFR, CON. One year is like just yesterday. After 98 years of labour and devotion to building our nation Nigeria to where truth, justice, fairness and harmony reigns, you departed with those final words “I am a Nigerian, I love Nigeria.
“But more, your toil for the unity, solidarity, national relevance of the Niger Delta, yes, the entire South South geopolitical zone will for endless generations be celebrated and honoured”.
Besides, the group thank God, for the late elder statesman’s “vision in all fronts remains aglow and the zeal shall certainly not flounder”.
“Even as we remember you in Special Memorial Service at your EDWIN CLARK UNIVERSITY, KIAGBODO, today, rest on dear daddy, “Gogorogo”, the tribute read.
Meanwhile PANDEF in collaboration with Edwin Kiagbodo Clark Foundation, Edwin Clark University and the families of Clark, Bekederemo and Fuludu are organising one year memorial service titled ‘A Life of Service, Integrity and Sacrifice at the Edwin Clark University Auditorium, Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, at 10:00 am tomorrow.
AljazirahNigeria recalls that the late Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, who died in February 17, 2025 at the age of 98 was born on May 25, 1927.
The prominent Ijaw leader, lawyer, and politician served as a Federal Commissioner of Information from 1975 to 1976 under General Yakubu Gowon’s administration.
