The Osigwe Nwogu Family of Nkwerre Ancient Kingdom has expressed its sincere appreciation to the Government and people of Imo State, under the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodimma, for conferring a posthumous honour on their late patriarch, Chief Emmanuel Osigwe Nwogu (Nnanyereugo Nkwerre), as part of the state’s Golden Jubilee Anniversary celebrations.
The posthumous Imo State Star Award recognises the late Chief Nwogu’s outstanding service to the state and the nation, acknowledging a life of dedication that left an indelible mark on history.
In an official statement issued on behalf of the family by his sons, Hon. Chidi Nwogu—former Member of the Federal House of Representatives and Board Member of AAAU, Abuja—and Engr. Chinaka Nwogu, former Group General Manager of NAPIMS, NNPC, the family expressed deep gratitude to the Imo State Government for the honour.
“The Osigwe Nwogu Family is deeply humbled by this unique honour. Despite the passage of time since our patriarch’s demise, His Excellency, Governor Sen. Hope Uzodimma, has deemed it fit to bestow this prestigious recognition on notable sons and daughters of Imo State,” the statement read.
The family noted that the award stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of their father’s remarkable contributions, spanning community service and national development.
The formal award ceremony took place at the Government House, Owerri, and was one of the highlights of Imo State’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
If you want it shorter, more ceremonial, or adapted for a press release headline style, say the word and I’ll tweak it.
