Kaduna State Fire Service said it recorded no fewer than 306 fire outbreaks and 10 deaths in 2025.
The Assistant Controller, Mr Paul Aboi said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, yesterday in Kaduna, that the incidents occurred in Kafanchan, Zaria and Kaduna metropolis.
Aboi added that during the period, 19 persons were rescued unhurt, while 48 others sustained different degrees of injuries.
He said property worth N14 billion were saved from being destroyed in the fire outbreaks.
“The fire incidents that occurred during the year destroyed property worth N6.4 billion,” he said.
Aboi listed bush burning, carelessness and improper use of electrical appliances as some of the major causes of the fire incidents.
The official noted that the Kaduna Fire Service would continue to collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
“Our synergy with relevant stakeholders supported our operations immensely, especially in terms of swift response,” he said.
He expressed the commitment of the fire service to ensure effective public sensitisation and response to fire outbreaks in the state. (NAN)
