A house of Representatives aspirant under the platform of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, for the AMAC/ Bwari federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, Hon Maji Johnson Bello has dismissed claims of the existence of factions in the opposition African Democratic Congress, ADC, in certain quarters , insisting that ADC is under one leadership , led by Sen. David Mark National Working Committee, NWC.
Speaking to Journalists Tuesday in Abuja, Hon. Bello described Mr Nafiu Bala, a former member of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, who is laying claims as the National Chairman of the party as an interloper which according to him is playing a script from the presidency to distabilize the party.
The Federal Law maker hopeful added that Mr Nafiu Bala resigned from the party in July, 2024 and has no business parading himself as a National Chairman from a party he voluntarily resigned his membership.
He noted that there is no ambiguity in the national leadership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as the electoral body , the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC , leadership and website recognized and published Sen. David Mark , the former Senate President as the authentic National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
” To the best of my knowledge, there is no faction in the ADC , it doesn’t exist , go to the INEC porter, whose name is in the porter. Nafiu is playing a script , Nafiu is an interloper ,he is not a member of the party , he resigned in July, 2024 , if he goes to the court he is an interloper. Sen. David Mark is the only recognition party Chairman by the INEC”
Hon Bello , a former National head of Operations and FCT Coordinator for Atiku/ Obi 2019 / Atiku Okowa 2023 Presidential Campaign and founder of a Non governmental Organization , NGO, Green White Green says he possesses the right credentials and experience to represent AMAC/ BWARI federal Constituency in the 2027 general election of given the mandate.
He promises to make laws that will transform the residents of AMAC,l BWARI federal Constituency, regretting that those who represented the constituency in the past and present neglected the people.
Bello who disagreed with those calling for the scrapping of constituency allowance advocated that constituency projects should be given priority by setting up a committee to oversee how the constituency allowance is being spent.
” Those calling for abolition of constituency allowance does not know what it means , let the money provided for constituency projects be used for water, electricity, roads , primary health care , building and equipping schools , it is for the people not for the politicians. To checkmate how the money is being spent, the National Assembly authority should set up a committee to oversee it”
