Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress ,APC, has received the current Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP, Kaura Namoda Local Government, Sadiq Abubakar, who defected into the party.
The State APC Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris stated this in a statement issued in Gusau on Monday.
Idris described the defection of Kaura Namoda PDP Chairman as a welcome development.
The News Agency of Nigeria ,NAN, reports that the PDP Chairman Kaura Namoda Local Government, Sadiq Abubakar on Sunday in Kaura Namoda town defected from PDP to the APC.
Announcing his defection from the PDP, Abubakar said his defection was because the party is dead in Zamfara.
Abubakar further said that the PDP was affected by serious crises at the National level.
According to Yusuf, the PDP chairman was received by the former APC Chairman, Lawal Liman, along with the Kaura Namoda Local Government APC chairman, Alhaji Sule Gabake at the local government APC Secretariat in Kaura.
Liman assured him and his supporters of equal treatment where justice is paramount.
He stated that Zamfara APC was under the leadership of Sen. AbdulAziz Yari and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle working day and night to ensure the peace and stability as well as general progress of the party.
