Team Nigeria Tennis is set for action at the 2025 African Youth Games scheduled to hold in Luanda, Angola, from December 10 to 20, 2025.
The contingent, comprising four junior players and a coach, successfully concluded their training camp in Abuja and will depart alongside other Team Nigeria athletes for the continental multisport event.
The players representing Nigeria include: Goodnews Aina (Girl), Khadijat Mohammed (Girl), Oluwaseun Ogunsakin (Boy) Ikenna Prosper Okonkwo (Boy) and Akinwumi Ogunsakin (Coach)
President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, extended his best wishes to the young athletes, expressing confidence in their ability to deliver podium finishes and serve as worthy ambassadors of the country.
Ochei charged the team to maintain professionalism, discipline, and the winning mentality Nigeria is known for. He also commended the leadership of the National Sports Commission for providing the necessary logistics and welfare support to enhance the athletes’ performance at the Games.
Team Nigeria Tennis will compete against some of the continent’s finest youth talents as they aim to make the nation proud in Luanda.
