The 5th Edition of the annual Football Party will have a record number of 64 Football Academies in Lagos and Ogun participating to celebrate the yuletide season with young male and female footballers.
According to the Founder, Angel Salt, who also leads F8BALLERS AFRICA Football Academy in Lagos, “the WAKAPASS Christmas Football Party initiative which started 5 years ago was borne out of the need to share the joy of the festive season with a football fiesta with young people who may not be privileged. I was inspired to start this initiative 5 years ago when I asked a few players ‘How’s the Christmas celebration?’ and they responded ‘who celebrates Christmas?’.
This really touched me and I decided that every year we will organize this event to give young footballers the opportunity to enjoy the festive season through a Christmas football party. We started with few teams, but this year the number has grown to 64.
This attests to the impact the event has made in the lives of underprivileged young players who may not have the means to enjoy the joy of Christmas. We also call on individuals and brands that love to make a difference with us this Christmas.”
Angel Salt disclosed that the event will be preceded by a Press Conference and Draws powered by the Angel Salt Sports Development Foundation on Friday December 19th at the Conference Hall of the National Institute for sports, Lagos.
There will be a “Play for the Future” novelty match between Angel Salt All Stars and Coaches of the participating Teams on Sunday December 21st. Interested individuals can reach out to be a part of the event.
The main event which include football matches, party and feasting will take place at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on 26th and 27th December.
Angel Salt’s passion for quality development of players resulted in the establishment of F8BALLERS AFRICA FOOTBALL ACADEMY in 2018 to prepare football champions and help young players develop to stardom.
The players are nurtured technically, tactically, psychologically and socially in football training and moral-driven approach. They are also exposed to the very best of global football curriculum and off-the-pitch opportunities.
It’s the passion to see more grassroots football academies attain higher standard that further inspired his involvement of other football academies in the ecosystem through projects like Wakapass,
The Champs Cup, Pass and Pasta The Big Sunday Game, Tattered Boots and others.
