The newly elected President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Victor Ochei, has paid an emotional tribute to the late former President of the Federation, Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju, who passed away after a brief illness.
Rt Hon. Ochei, speaking during the service of songs organized by the Akindoju family at his Idu Yard residence, described the passing of Engr. Akindoju as a huge loss to the entire tennis community.
According to him, the late Akindoju’s legacy and contributions to the development of tennis in Nigeria will remain indelible.”Dayo was a good friend of mine.
He was an engineer like me. He brought me onto the board of the Tennis Federation, and, as a matter of fact, we were preparing for his re-election before he passed away,” Ochei said.
“Dayo was passionate about tennis and laid a solid foundation for the Federation. I promise to continue from where he stopped,” he added.
Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju, a dedicated administrator and ardent lover of tennis, died on October 2 in Abuja after a brief illness.
