University Teaching Hospitals (Reconstitution of Board, etc) Act (Amendment) Bill, 2025, being sponsored by the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro passed first reading on the floor of the Senate yesterday.
The bill is seeking to amend the University Teaching Hospitals Act to establish the Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo Teaching Hospital.
It would be recalled that Senator Moro sponsored the bill establishing the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, FUHSO, which was assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022. The current bill is for the establishment of the university’s teaching hospital.
