Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni has charged the new Emir of Gudi, Alhaji Ismaila Gadaka, to champion peace, unity and progress for the people of his emirate, the state and nation.
The governor gave the charge during the formal presentation of the letter of appointment at Gudi Emirate Council.
The governor, presented the letter through the Commissioner for Higher Education, Science and Technology, Professor Muhammad Kawuwa. He highlighted the critical role of traditional institutions in fostering community development, resolving conflicts and preserving cultural heritage.
He also urged the new emir to carry out his responsibilities with fairness, dignity and the fear of God.
In his response, Alhaji Ismaila expressed appreciation to Governor Buni for the trust reposed on him and pledged to serve with honesty, dedication and the best interest of his people.
He called on the people of his emirate to continue to give maximum support and cooperation to Governor Buni.
