Police Arrest 3 Rustlers, Recover 113 Cattle In Yobe

Yobe State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three suspected cattle rustlers.

This was disclosed yesterday in a statement by the police spokesman, Dungus Abdulkarim.

According to Abdulkarim, on June 30 at about 1300hrs, Damagum Divisional Police Headquarters received credible intelligence about suspected cattle rustlers moving a large number of cattle along Mashio village in Fune Local Government Area.

The statement said a swift police action led to the arrest of three suspects, namely Mohammed Sani (40), Abubakar Sani (35) and Abdullahi Buhari (37), all from Kano State. 

It said they confessed to rustling 113 cattle from Falgore Bush Area of Kano State. 

The case has been transferred to the Crack Squad for further investigation.

In a separate incident, on June 30 at about 1100hrs, police responded to a distress call about an armed robbery attempt in Jajare in Fune Local Government Area.

According to him, two suspects, Umar Lamido Wada (22) and Saidu Habu (25) were arrested and the victim was rescued with various degrees of injuries and referred to a specialist hospital in Potiskum for treatment. 

The Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado commended the personnel’s resilience and commitment to sustaining the tempo.

He also appreciated the communities for their maximum collaboration and urged continued cooperation and understanding.
