Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a Judge of the State High Court, E.J Umokoro, in Yenagoa, the state capital.
The judge’s abduction was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Musa Mohammed, in Yenagoa, yesterday.
According to Mohammed, “Umokoro, a judge at Bayelsa State High Court, was on Saturday evening, kidnapped from his car at a fast food outlet at Ekeki area of Yenagoa.
“The command has deployed tactical teams and drones to trail and arrest the hoodlums.”
It was gathered that the gunmen who abducted the judge fired sporadically at the car park of the eatery before forcing him out of his vehicle and whisking him away in a waiting Toyota Hilux.
Justice Umokoro was said to have been waiting for his daughter, who had gone into an outlet to make some purchases, when the kidnappers whisked him away.
