Eid-el-Kabir: Muslim Community Endorses Governor Nwifuru For Second Term

 Muslim community in Ebonyi State has endorsed the state governor, Francis Nwifuru for second term.

This is coming during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration when community leader, Mrs Modester Nwogbaga hosted Muslim believers in her Abakaliki residence to celebrate with them in the occasion of the Sallah festival.

Making the declaration before members, Mr Salisu Mohammed who put the declaration to vote and was echoed in affirmative said that their choice of the sitting governor for second term was to appreciate him for the peace and accommodative spirit Muslim believers are enjoying under the present government led by Francis Nwifuru and Izhi people since his assumption of office.

Mohammed appreciated the community leader, Mrs Modester Nwogbaga for the historical hosting of Muslim believers in the state saying that Muslims had never been given special Sallah festival celebration by a woman in the state and assured Mrs Nwogbaga of their continuous support to achieving all her desires.

The Secretary General and personal secretary to the Chief Imam Central Mosque, Abakaliki, Usman Shuaibu described the honor as an extraordinary and pray Allah to replenish the host abundantly.

Earlier, the host, Mrs Modester Nwogbaga, popularly known as ‘talk na do’ said that the essence of the event was to restrengthen the peace accord Muslim worshippers enjoying with people of the state and urged them to continue supporting governor Francis Nwifuru and the All Progressives Congress, APC led fed-government.

In their goodwill messages, Alhaji Wale, Coordinator of Yoruba community, Ajia Fatimo Aruna, who spoke on behalf of Hausa women and Hajiya Serifat Ajibade who represented Yoruba women group commended Mrs Modester Nwogbaga for the warm reception and prayed more blessings upon her.

The event featured presentation of ram as Sallah gift to host, open dancing and food gifts with assorted drinks.
