Nasarawa: LG Chairman Supports Education With School Materials

Chairman of Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Agbawu  Mek Agbawu has expressed  readiness to prioritise children’s education.

The council boss stated this  during the 2025 Children’s Day celebration held at  Garaku Mini Stadium.

Agbawu, who described children as future leaders, promised to provide equal opportunity for them to pursue their education and other social activities, irrespective of gender.

He called on parents, teachers and all stakeholders to continue teaching children good moral values to make them relevant in the society. 

“Children are our leaders, we should remember that they don’t need only food, but they need our full support in  areas that will make them feel our impact. All parents and teachers have the responsibility of taking care of children,” he said.

The council boss commended the tireless efforts of teachers in nurturing students and urged them to redouble efforts towards imparting knowledge.

To support the education of children in the local government area, he distributed school materials, including bags and books, to every student who participated in the march past.

Ralagma  Jonah from GSS Garaku and Asheadzi Vincent, representing Government Girls Science Secondary School, Garaku, expressed joy for being part of the celebration and appreciated their parents and teachers for making a great impact in their lives through sound education.

Highlight of the occasion was the march past parade by students from various government and private schools across Kokona Local Government Area.
