Suspected herdsmen have abducted the wife of a kindred head and two other women in Gwer-West Local Government Area of Benue State.
The incident occurred yesterday along Unande KM4 Naka-Adoka-Ankpa road.
A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the women were abducted by gun-wielding Fulani herdsmen while returning from the farm.
According the source, “On Monday by 1pm, three women who were returning from the farm were kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen along Naka-Adoka-Anka road.
“Some of the kidnappers were covering their faces while some were not.
“We suspect those ones covering their faces are insiders, while those who did not cover their faces are pure Fulanis.”
Kidnappers and Fulani herdsmen have taken over Makurdi-Naka road, making the route no longer conducive and safe for motorists and passengers.
Efforts to confirm the incident from the spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command was not successful, as calls to her mobile telephone did not go through at the time of this report.
