Zulum Appoints Bukar As Accountant General

Borno State governor, Professor Babagana Zulum has approved the appointment of Alhaji Bunu Bukar as the new Accountant General of the state.

A statement signed by his Special Adviser  on Media, Dauda Iliya said Alhaji Bukar would take over from Alhaji Bura Usman, who is due to retire on May 8.

Bukar served as Director of Treasury Operations in the Office of the Accountant General of Borno State.

A seasoned finance professional, he is a fellow of the Certified National Accountants, FCNA, and a member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration, MBA, with a specialisation in finance, as well as a postgraduate diploma in accountancy, among other academic and professional qualifications.

While congratulating the new accountant general, Governor Zulum  charged him to apply his extensive experience in upholding the principles of professionalism, transparency, financial integrity and accountability in the discharge of his duties.

The governor also commended the outgoing accountant general for his meritorious service and contributions to the development of the state and the administration.
