Gombe State Police Command has arrested eight suspects in connection with the abduction and gruesome murder of six-year-old Muhammad Bulama in Bura-Bunga village, Bajude District, Kwami Local Government Area.
The tragic incident, which occurred in mid-February, had sent shockwaves through the local community.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, it was revealed that the suspects confessed to killing the boy for ritual purpose.
The deceased’s grandfather, Ibrahim Bulama, reported the boy missing on April 18 after an exhaustive but unsuccessful search.

Investigation uncovered that Magaji Adamu, 45, the alleged ringleader, brutally killed the child and dismembered his body.
The upper half was dumped inside a well, while the lower half was handed over to accomplices, Jibrin Muhammad and Usman Abubakar.
The suspects admitted to committing the atrocity on the instructions of native doctors, Idris Dayyabu and Abdulrauf Hussaini, who reportedly required human parts for money-making rituals.
Further confessions implicated Babayo Musa, 18, who abducted the boy and Sadam Umaru, 28, who acted as a liaison with the native doctors.
Another suspect, Isiyaku Muhammad, 39, was arrested for conspiracy and concealing the crime.
Investigators identified the mastermind as Gimba, the biological father of the victim, who remains at large.
Authorities are intensifying efforts to locate and arrest him to ensure that all the individuals involved are brought to justice.
The Commissioner of Police, Bello Yahaya, assured the public of a thorough investigation and pledged that all perpetrators would face the full weight of the law.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
The command reiterated its commitment to safeguard lives and tackle crime across the state.
