Police  Recover 54 Stolen Livestock In Yobe

Yobe State Police Command has confirmed the recovery of 54 stolen livestock, including 47 sheep, four rams, two goats and one donkey from suspected thieves. 

A statement in Damaturu signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, said a 38-year-old suspect, Ibrahim Umaru of Jammel Village, Jakusko Local Government Area, was arrested on December 5, 2024 in possession of the stolen livestock during patrol at Babbangida, Tarmuwa Local Government Area.

According to him, the suspect allegedly stole the livestock from  Nigeria-Chad border area.

The command urged individuals who lost their domestic animals to come forward with credible evidence of ownership to claim them.

The  Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado  encouraged the public to report their missing belongings to the nearest police station promptly to enable it facilitate quick searches and possible recoveries.
