Jigawa State government has approved the Creativity and Innovation Week, to promote creativity and innovation among youths.
Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sport and Culture, Mr Sagir Musa, said this at a news conference on Tuesday in Dutse.
He said the State Executive Council, SEC, approved the commoration of the week.
This, he said, was in line with Governor Umar Namadi’s commitment to talent development towards fostering the spirit of creativity and innovation among youths.
Musa said the council also approved N516 million for the purchase of 184 return tickets in respect of 185 indigent students undergoing medical courses at Near East University, Cyprus, for the 2024/2025 academic session.
SEC directed the Security Guards Companies engaged by the state government to allow female security operatives to wear Hijab (veil), to cover themselves during work hours.
The state government engaged the services of 9,969 security operatives comprising males and females, to secure schools, hospitals and other public places. (NAN)
