The Umbrella body of Igbo association in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja , under the ageis of Igbo Community Assembly, ICA , has elected its new executives to pilot the affairs of the association for the next three years.
Those elected in a free and fair election are Ikenna Mutuanya, president General, Charles Uzodinma, vice president, Anthony Ibe General secretary, Assistant secretary, Chinedu Okoli. Timothy Maduabuchukwu treasurer. Elom Dominic Sunday Financial Secretary,
Others include Ugochukwu Ogbonna, publicity Secretary, Chijioke Nwaeze, Chief Mashal , welfare officer 1, Rose Jerry Rob welfare officer 2, Friday Aja, Chidi Obidike, provost .
Also elected as Ex officio are, Tobias Ogunoba, S. Emeka, Chief Onokwuru, Iyom Kate and Wilfred Ukpo.
Addressing the new executives, shortly after their Inauguration, Eze Igbo 1, Abuja, HRH Eze Ibe Nwosu charged them to be good ambassadors of the Igbos as well as promote the rich tradition and culture of the Igbos .
Equally, the monarch urged the new executives to champion harmonious relationship between the Igbos and their neighbours, especially the host community.
He said the essence of the association is to foster unity, peace progress and development of the Igbos in the FCT, urging them to remain united as one indivisible body, and shun divisive tendencies and bickerings .
Eze Nwosu also admonished the new officials to be transparent and committed in the affairs of the association, adding that the survival of the association squarely rest on their shoulders.
The returning officer for the election, Bar Okechukwu Nzeukwu described the election as peaceful devoid of rancour.
