President Bola Tinubu has signed the South West and South South Development Commission Bills into law.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu announced this during plenary Wednesday.
The six geo-political zones in the country now have commissions dedicated to addressing their developmental needs.
In July 2024, Tinubu signed the South East and North West Development
Commission Bills into law.
Establishment of the latest development commissions, followed the creation of the North East Development Commission by former President Muhammadu Buhari to rebuild the insurgency-devasted region and resettle displaced citizens from the zone.
The commissions will receive funds to execute projects in the various geo-political zones.
