In a press release, Uzodimma praised the president’s swift intervention and commended the National Assembly for backing the move without delay.

According to him, the proactive approach demonstrates a strong commitment to safeguard democracy, ensuring security and maintaining order in Rivers State.

“In the light of recent developments in Rivers State, I commend  President   Tinubu for his decisive leadership in declaring a state of emergency to forestall further escalations.

“This proactive measure reflects a deep commitment to the stability, security and well-being of the good people of Rivers State and, by extension, Nigeria,” Uzodimma stated.

He also hailed the appointment of Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, describing it as a strategic decision that would pave the way for lasting peace.

The governor expressed confidence in Ibas leadership, citing his vast experience and disciplined approach as key assets in managing the crisis.
